Eamon Colman Exhibition

We are just delighted to have worked again with Irish Artist Eamon Colman for his solo exhibition with Solomon Art Gallery, Dublin.
Eamon has become a friend of the workshop over the years and we have framed many of his works . A tireless worker, even through ill health, and brave beyond belief, Eamon is not afraid of colour and experimentation.

If you are in Dublin over the next couple of weeks you should check out this show. Easy to find, next to the Westbury hotel the Solomon Gallery is one of Dublin's best rated spaces so always worth a visit if you're in town.

John Doherty has for many years been capturing a unique sense of the Irish vernacular. In this series of prints, john has again captured a period of time in Ireland that speaks of small towns and countryside that we all recognise. These artists prints are full of texture and tone that are synonymous with the artists work a must have in any collection of Irish Art.

Artisan Frames are delighted to work with Gerard Byrne Gallery on his latest project in support of the SCOOP Foundation. The initiative is  to raise funds in support displaced young people living in Direct Provision Centres in Ireland and IDP Camps in the Middle East and help implement SCOOP Ed, a program which focuses on aiding vulnerable young people through personal, academic & job seeking support.

We have worked closely with Gerard to come up with a simple but elegant framing solution for his limited edition print.
Available to purchase through the Gallery, we have chosen two frame colours  to best compliment the picture. The finished piece comes with a museum mount and anti-reflective glass as standard with a cutout for the Artist's all important signature on the reverse. The is also a mounted and wrapped version for gifting or posting overseas.

Artisan Frames is probably best known for making contemporary picture frames for working artists and each month we make a wide variety of frames for art exhibitions from paintings to photographs and fine art prints. Recently a client brought in an old oil painting that had lost its frame, probably to a mirror or other a different work of art, and so he asked if we could make a new frame for it that might suit as he had plans to sell it.
Looking at the picture which was in need of some repair we decided that a swept or cassetta frame might suit so we began going through our frame samples to see if we had anything that might suit. There was a lot of frames that came close but this needed something more so we set about making a custom frame based on a reproduction picture frame with some bespoke hand carved detailing that we thought would make an interesting feature to give the picture a lift while remaining sympathetic to the time of the painting itself.
